DELIVERY

We operate a fixed delivery charge of £2.50 for all web orders, with an option to upgrade this to "next working day" carrier service. Note that only orders placed before 11am will be despatched the same day and therefore actually be scheduled for delivery on the following day. Weekends and Bank holidays are not counted as working days for despatching or delivering orders.

DESIGN NEW PRODUCTS

If you want to get involved with generating new products for future catalogues, we also have a great opportunity for someone to volunteer some assistance to us - see below.

Promote the Tearcraft website

Tearcraft is about creating sustainable employment in some of the worlds poorest communties. To do that we need to make Tearcraft  more widely known and sell more goods. You can play your part by advertising the Tearcraft website in your emails and on websites that you are involved with operating.

Simply add this text at the foot of emails that you send:

www.tearcraft.org - a place to buy beautifully handcrafted jewellery, homewares, toys and gifts. Participate in a fairer world as you shop.

To create a simple text link in a website, insert this HTML code:

<!-- Tearcraft Text Link -->
<div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:1em">
<a href="http://www.tearcraft.org">tearcraft.org</a>
- a place to buy beautifully handcrafted jewellery, homewares, toys and gifts. Participate in a fairer world as you shop.</div>
<!-- Tearcraft Text Link-->

The link will look like this:
tearcraft.org - a place to buy beautifully handcrafted jewellery, homewares, toys and gifts. Participate in a fairer world as you shop.

To create a link with an image, insert this HTML code:

<div style="text-align:center;">
<a href="http://www.tearcraft.org"><img src="http://www.tearfund.org/webdocs/Website/linkimage.gif" width="300" height="67" alt="Click here for tearcraft.org"><br/>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:"0.8em;">tearcraft</span></a></div>

Work experience placement

Fair trade, ethical, eco, sustainable – Tearcraft was there at the beginning when the trend first started 35 years ago. Paying workers a fair wage to work in decent conditions, and providing a market for their handcrafted goods seemed the obvious way to create sustainable livelihoods in some of the world’s poorest countries.

It’s the same today.

We are offering a work experience placement to a student with a design background who can help us create products that can be made in developing countries, but appeal to the UK market.

Sounds simple – it’s not!

If you can communicate an idea with a pencil sketch, have a good awareness of UK trends and are familiar with either textile or woodshop environments we’d love to hear from you. In return for giving us a fortnight of your time, ideas and designs, you’ll experience an alternative side to the mainstream design industry, be part of one of the UK’s fastest growing movements and stand a good chance of seeing your designs turned into products.
