Due to political instability, floods and hurricanes, Haiti is the poorest country in the Americas. 85 per cent of the population lack access to even the most basic services such as clean water and electricity.
Tearfund partner organisations in Haiti are running primary schools and vocational training courses and are involved in motivating church leaders and young people to get involved in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
