How can you bring the issue of justice for the poor into your churches' worship? We hope these resources will help.
"Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps. But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!" Amos 5: 21-24
Justice is part of our worship. We worship God with not only our words and voices, but with our acts and deeds.
"We can't ignore key chunks of the Bible and I think it's a huge challenge for us as Christians not to be hypocritical. God is not impressed when we sing with all our hearts and raise our hands if we are not doing all that he has called us to. To love our neighbour as ourselves. To defend the poor and to love all people. Worship is too big a thing to separate as something we just do at church." Tim Hughes, uK
If you want to dig deeper into the issue of worship and justice, order the pack Freedom, which comes with a 34 page booklet on worship written by Tim Hughes and Al Gordon, and a CD of their songs How Long (by All Gordon) and God of Justice (Tim Hughes).
