The Gift Aid system allows Tearfund to reclaim the tax on a gift from a UK taxpayer, and add it to the value of the gift. If you make a Gift Aid declaration to Tearfund, we can reclaim the tax on every gift you make while you are a UK taxpayer. More >>

In simple terms it is an extra 28% on top of the gift you donated. This is because:If you give Tearfund a gift of £100, you will have to have earned £128. £28 will have been taken as tax, but this will then be reclaimed by Tearfund. More >>

Tearfund can still reclaim the tax if you pay tax at the lower rate, or are not in regular employment. Provided that we do not claim more back in tax, in any financial year, than you have paid to the Inland Revenue in tax, then we can make the claim. More >>
