Berta, 28, would not be here today, sitting with her five children, if God's church had accepted injustice as 'the way life is'.

When HIV led to AIDS, Berta thought she would die. But antiretroviral medicines (ARVs) restored her strength.

Local church volunteer Lurdes enabled Berta to access the medicines; she also prayed and helped her friend to take them properly.

This is the miracle of the global church in action: churches in the UK and Ireland supporting Tearfund to support a church partner to support Lurdes to support Berta, so Berta can support her children again.
