How to apply

Applying online

Tearfund has developed an advanced system allowing candidates to complete and submit a job application via this website.

On submission your application form will be sent automatically to our International HR team and a copy of the application form will be emailed to you. You will also receive another email at this stage. You need to reply to this email, attaching a current CV. We cannot process your application without receiving both an application form and a CV.

The application form will be generated as a PDF document. Please note that you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5 or later to view this PDF correctly: the latest version can be downloaded free from the Adobe website. PDF creation software kindly donated by WebSupergoo - www.websupergoo.com.

You can also complete your online application form in stages. At the beginning of the process you will be asked for an email address and a password: using these details you can log in (by visiting Continue an existing application form) and continue where you left off. You can also apply for multiple jobs concurrently - when you log in you will be presented with a list of your partially-completed applications.

Please note that any unsubmitted applications that have been inactive for 30 days will be automatically deleted along with your password and username details, in accordance with our data protection policy. If you wish to apply after this time, you will have to set up new log-in details.

If you don't wish to apply online, please contact the International Personnel team at internationaljobs@tearfund.org for the appropriate job profile and an application form by email, stating your name, and which vacancy and location you are interested in.

All applicants must be committed to Tearfund’s evangelical Christian beliefs and in agreement with Tearfund’s Basis of Faith document which you must read before applying (click here to view).

What happens next?

Due to the volume of applications we receive and in order to ensure the best stewardship of our resources, please assume you have not been successful with your application if you have not heard from us within two weeks of the job's closing date or the date it was taken off the website.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview, which will usually be held at the Tearfund offices in Teddington, UK. A contribution towards travel costs is available.

Prior to departure for assignment, the successful applicant will be required to attend appropriate briefing and orientation, including a medical assessment. Tearfund is verified compliant with the People In Aid Code of Good Practice

Tearfund will treat your application as private and confidential. Unsuccessful applications will be securely destroyed after four months.
