Public Policy Officer – HIV and AIDS
Tearfund has a track record of successful lobbying on HIV and AIDS issues and is currently scaling up its work in this critical area. We are looking for a Policy Officer to carry out research, policy and lobbying work on HIV and AIDS. You will specifically be involved in developing an advocacy programme to influence HIV and AIDS issues in the developing world, drawing upon the experiences and views of Tearfund international partners in the developing world You will also manage research, develop relationships with Tearfund partners, policy-makers and other NGO’s and lobby government.  You must be educated to degree level or equivalent and have significant experience in research, lobbying or campaigning. An understanding of advocacy issues relating to HIV and AIDS is also essential. You will have good analytical skills, be confident in taking initiative and be able to think and plan strategically. Tearfund would also encourage those who are directly affected by HIV and AIDS to apply for this position. This role is currently based in Teddington, however, there is an opportunity for the job holder to be based in Johannesburg. Team Administrator - Latin America and Caribbean
Based in the UK, we are recruiting for a Team Administrator to join the Latin America and Caribbean regional team to ensure that the administrative needs of the team are effectively co-ordinated. UK HR Adviser
You will be an experienced HR professional providing comprehensive advice to line management and staff including senior managers.  Your main client will be our International Group whose work is focussed overseas in the many countries of the world that we serve, albeit you will be responsible for the HR service to the UK based staff and based in the UK yourself.  You will have occasional opportunity to visit the work overseas but this will not be a regular or mandatory part of the job.   Your role will cover all aspects of HR from recruitment through to performance management, organisational change and contributing to policy development. You will also be responsible for a junior staff member, mentoring their continued professional development.  You will be CIPD qualified and have proven ability in providing a proactive and comprehensive advisory service to senior managers on a range of issues, including recruitment, ill-health issues, performance management, discipline, job evaluation and change management.  Well-developed influencing and organisational skills are essential as well as some experience of managing projects.
