Tearfund has announced a restructuring of its regional development teams to help achieve the 10-year vision to see `100,000 local churches, both in the developed and developing world, bringing physical and spiritual transformation to 50 million people living in poverty.’
The aim of the changes, which will see specialist development staff becoming Country Representatives, is improved efficiency and greater effectiveness through faster and better decision making in the regions.
This is part of a wider process of change at Tearfund. It comes after extensive research and consultation following an Organisational and Culture Review (OCR).
Tearfund values its staff and its relationships with its church partner agencies and supporters.
Prior to the implementation of this reorganisation, extensive consultation was conducted with staff through Tearfund’s Staff Council and the Board of Trustees.
Some partner agencies as well as other key external stakeholders were also consulted.
Tearfund chief executive Matthew Frost expressed appreciation for the dedication and work of all the staff teams involved.
`This isn’t a change to Tearfund’s overall mission,’ he said.
`We believe that these staff changes will place us in a stronger position than ever to pursue our strategic aims of supporting and enabling local churches worldwide to release the poorest people from desperate poverty.’
