Background information

The first black cricketer to represent Zimbabwe at test level, Henry Olonga made international headlines at the 2003 World Cup when, along with team-mate Andy Flower, he donned a black armband to protest against the "death of democracy" in Zimbabwe.

The protest ended his international career, and some disturbing threats meant he could not return to Zimbabwe. Now settled in the UK, he is in demand as a cricket pundit and is also gaining praise for his music - his tenor voice lends itself to classical and contemporary music, and he has recently released an album.

More information can be found on his website: www.henryolonga.net
