Tearfund Inspire trip to Egypt - March 2010

This Inspire trip will provide a fantastic opportunity to see Tearfund’s vision in action, and is for volunteers from England and Wales.

We hope to visit two Tearfund partners in Cairo to see how God is using them to bring transformation to the poorest and most marginalised. There will be a chance for you to do some practical work with our partners.

You will also have the opportunity to discuss your experiences and pray with others on the tour.

And Tearfund will equip you to share those stories with churches back home, and to make the most of your experiences.

Date: 1 - 14 March 2010 (depending on flights – exact dates to be confirmed)
Price: In the range of £750-£900 + flights (final costing will be available nearer the time of the tour)
Orientation: Saturday 30 January 2010
Reunion: Saturday 3 April 2010

News from our region

East Devon walk

This year's East Devon Tearfund walk raised £3,235.48 for Tearfund.

Next year’s walk will be arranged for 9am on Saturday 25 April, 2009 and will start from the same car park, but will be a different route from the previous two years.

We look forward to seeing many participants and once again raising some much needed funds for those less fortunate.

For details on how to organise your own sponsored walk, contact Paul and Barbara Woolley on 01395 232992.

Jackie leads the way

When Church Representative Jackie Knapman saw the Sudan crisis on TV she organised a sponsored walk. Almost 30 people gathered to walk a five-mile coastal route

'The walk was a great success', enthuses Jackie. 'I'd hoped to raise £1,000 so when we got more than £2,000 I was chuffed to bits. I'm already planning to do it again this year – I might even make it a bit longer this time!'

If you want to organise a promotional or fundraising event for Tearfund and would like some help, please contact the South West office.
