Campaigning Works

Sometimes it may feel like you're on your own, trying to stand against the tide of apathy and injustice. We want to encourage and say again to you that campaigning works!

Wilberforce waited 40 years before seeing the realisation of his campaigning efforts to abolish the slave trade and free the slaves.  Jubilee Debt Campaign released over $100billion of debt held by the poorest nations in the world.  The Fairtrade movement now benefits over 7million people and is growing year on year.  The UK is leading the world with the Climate Change Act, the first piece of legislation which limits our greenhouse emissions, born out of campaigning efforts and came into effect in 2008. 

By campaigning with Tearfund, local churches are part of a wider movement seeking justice together.
