With a love for football and a cheeky grin, Moses may seem like many other twelve year old boys. But poverty has made his life anything but normal.
By giving regularly you can help families, like Moses’, to have hope for the future.
Malaria is rife in Ogongora. Without money to buy mosquito nets, the whole family constantly suffer. Food is also in short supply. He explains, “at times I have had so little to eat that my stomach and face swelled up as if I was fat.”
Moses’ story is not unusual. It is repeated all over the village. But things are beginning to change.
Tearfund’s partner, the Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) has been providing training to help families overcome poverty and using the bible to change mind-sets. By learning to use his own skills and resources, Moses’ father is now able to provide for his family. Moses says “I am very proud of my Father and the changes he has made in his life.”
Seeing his family endure these hardships has given Moses a dream. “I see a lot of sickness in my village, and I want to help people.” He would love to become a doctor.
