For 64 years Motilal was a slave. The government released him from his master but, as he says, ‘It was only when I became a Christian that I was truly set free.’
Now, aged 74 – despite life still being a daily struggle – Motilal says, ‘I am thankful to the church because they pray for us continually. They help us and encourage us.’
The church gave Motilal a pig to help provide for his family – and give him food when he doesn’t have enough. But Motilal’s dream is for the government to recognise Shivnagar and officially give them the land.
