Jesus Cares Ministries is dedicated to working with and empowering the less privileged. They work particularly alongside children and women through education, health services capacity building, social mobilisation, awareness raising, research and advocacy. There is also a focus on prevention and mitigation of HIV, TB, malaria and other illnesses like blindness.
JCM work with street children, child prostitutes, orphans, children forced into labour, and any other children under duress and oppression. They also reach out to poor and vulnerable women because of their obvious connection with children. JCM is currently running 22 community schools in Zambia, 3 of them in Lusaka, where Transform teams are based. They provide education, school necessities, health services, and basic necessities to over 1000 children per year. They provide a daily meal for children in the transit home, while others are day-pupils. JCM has over 800 staff volunteers, allowing them to reach kids in rural areas.
The vision of Jesus Cares Ministries is for a better world for all, where the poor and the less privileged are empowered and their human rights protected and promoted. Their work is guided by the core values of Christ centeredness, love, servant-hood, teamwork, excellence, hope, faith, transparency, accountability, integrity, non-partisanship and gender sensitivity.
