Go Make a Difference in Tanzania was born from a connection between the Church of St John the Evangelist in Blackheath and the Anglican Diocese of Mara in Northern Tanzania. Now 'Go MAD' works with Transform to carry on this connection. Their vision is to give people an opportunity to explore a rarely visited area of northern Tanzania and to get invovled in community projects which really make a difference. This year Go MAD is expanding its work and is offering the chance to go and make a difference in a community in Kenya.
Go MAD teams make a real difference by supporting practical projects - building low-cost houses, and water tanks and toilets for improved sanitation. Teams also share their various skills and get involved in more relational tasks with children, young people and adults in a variety of projects, such as helping in an orphanage, teaching in an English speaking primary school or getting involved in health education, including HIV and AIDs. All these activities allow you to give your time and energy in support of community development and to see the power of Christian faith in action.
