Here are some examples of what money you raise could be used for in countries across the world :
Uganda
- £8 a month for a year could provide materials and training for at least 2 apprentices, by an experienced citrus farmer. Providing the essential skills to work their way out of poverty.
- £15 a month can pay towards equipment and training for 10 builders, so that they can build clinics or classrooms and share their skills with others.
- £20 a month can pay towards training for 80 members of a farming group to set up a cooperative – helping them to fetch better prices for their crops and to provide for their families.
Peru
- £8 a month could enable 2 children to attend a weekly children’s club where they can have fun, learn about God and receive extra tuition. Giving them a chance to realise their dreams.
- It takes 3 years to teach an adult to read and write from scratch. £15 a month over this period could help 4 women to read and write. Transforming their lives and the lives of their children.
- £31 a month can take 10 families through a year long agricultural programme, including a facilitator, materials, workshops and ongoing practical advice. Providing essential skills to help them work their way out of poverty.
Nepal
- £8 per month over one year could provide training for 10 local pastors. Inspiring them to take action in their local communities, to tackle and overcome poverty.
- £15 per month could pay towards providing 23 families with a young goat each. The goat’s offspring enables further families to benefit and the sale of meat will provide three months basic supplies for a family of four.
- £20 per month could pay towards the training of 8 literacy teachers. Making it possible for 160 illiterate adults to learn to read and write. Offering the opportunity for a brighter future.
