Reflections

Christian development is not written in a list of principles – but on the hearts and lives of ordinary people like you and me.

Many of these reflections are encouraging; some are unsettling; but all have been inspired by personal experience of God’s presence in the midst of suffering.

In all this, we consider the priority of prayer. Because prayer is not the least we do; it is the most.

  • According to the Electricity Forum, a website full of fascinating electrical facts: ‘Canadian researchers have found a new way to harvest energy from the human body ...

  • In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.’ (Luke 22:20)

  • It was the human capacity for evil that Joseph Conrad explored in his turn-of-the-twentieth century novel, Heart of Darkness.

  • ‘You are the light of the world… Let your light shine before others.’ (Matthew 5:14, 16)

  • ‘I believe I’m in God’s hands, and my faith is helping me a lot. I’m still alive, my children have been protected, I’m protected. I have to thank God for everything.’
