Tearfund supporters are being asked to sign-up for a tea time chat with their MPs about tackling poverty.
Tearfund wants to impress upon the politicians the need to help poor communities around the world with essentials, such as education and healthcare.
We’re joining with other development organisations to organise an opportunity for constituents to meet their MPs at Westminster Hall over tea and cake on 9 June.
While a ring-fenced international aid budget is welcome, Tearfund wants MPs to understand that there are other innovative and fair ways of funding development.
These include stopping companies dodging paying tax and supporting measures like a Robin Hood tax on financial transactions.
Tea Time for Change is happening on Thursday 9 June from 11am-4pm at Central Hall, Westminster.
Representatives from Tearfund partners will also be speaking, plus there’ll be informative workshops.
To join the event, which has already attracted hundreds of supporters, please register online at www.tearfund.org.uk/teatime
