SOUTH SUDAN - Area Co-ordinator
SOUTHERN SUDAN: AREA COORDINATORLocated in TieralietTo start October 08 for 2 years Do you have proven management experience with a proven track record in project design, relief management, people management and strategic planning? You would also have a good understanding of current relief and development issues. We are seeking an experienced manager with strong project cycle management and people management skills to manage an operational project site, in liaison with the Deputy Programme Director.  Responsibilities include regular communication with the Deputy Programme Director, other agencies, and partner organisations, the writing of project reports to relevant donors and monthly written reports on all field activities to allow the Deputy Programme Director to make strategic decisions. Other responsibilities include the development of the programme in the project site in conjunction with the team ensuring the maximum impact with the resources available and within the set timeframe. In addition you will have responsibility for the personal and spiritual welfare and professional development of field staff. You will be a good leader with good negotiation and analytical skills and the ability to drive and develop a programme. Excellent written and spoken English, good cross-cultural awareness and a genuine heart for the poor are essential for this role. You must also be able to work in insecure environments without direct supervision to a tight timeframe. Applicants must be committed to Tearfund's evangelical Christian beliefs. NIGER - Country Representative
Country Representative - Niger Location of Post: Niamey, Niger Could you design and implement an effective strategy for Niger for Tearfund acting as a Country Representative? The role involves strategic planning; community management of a partner portfolio; resource management; leadership and staff development; along with ensuring all aspects of in-country security and health and safety. You will have substantial proven experience in community development, predominantly based in a developing country; strategic planning and thinking; leadership; project management and evaluation; and budget management.  Proven ability in West Africa region is essential, with Niger experience desirable. You will have oral and written proficiency in French and be fluent and competent in written and spoken English.  You will possess good interpersonal and negotiation skills.   The nature of the work will require the successful candidate to apply for a Police / Criminal Records check. SOUTHERN SUDAN - Capacity Building and Quality Manager
Located in Juba, South Sudan To start immediately for 6 months with a possible extension to 12 months   We are seeking an experienced manager with strong project cycle management skills to build the PCM capacity of Area Coordinators and supervise Sector Advisors in the South Sudan DMT programme. This will involve working closely with the Deputy Programme Director, Area Coordinators and Sector Advisors coordinating project development, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. A tertiary level qualification with a minimum of five years experience in project design and management, design of monitoring and learning processes, preparation of donor proposals and reports, and liaising directly with donors are essential requirements for this role. In addition the successful applicant should have a minimum of three years overseas NGO experience. Good training, leadership, analytical, problem solving and team building skills, excellent written and verbal communication are also essential requirements for the role.   The successful applicant must be a committed Evangelical Christian with a genuine heart for the poor, spiritually and emotionally mature, cross culturally aware and sensitive. LIBERIA - Closedown Coordinator
CLOSEDOWN CO-ORDINATORLocated in Monrovia, Liberia To start immediately and finish on 28th February 2009 We are seeking an experienced individual with proven project implementation experience to be responsible for the overall coordination and facilitation of all processes necessary for the closedown of the programme. They will ensure that all legal, local and donor requirements are adhered to, and Tearfund’s procedures are followed emphasising good practice within the Human Resources, Finance and Logistics functions. In addition they will ensure a timely exit in accordance with the ‘Closedown Guidelines’ manual as delegated by the Programme Director. Strong administration skills with the ability to understand and comply with systems and procedures, good problem solving and analytical skills, excellent negotiation skills and computer literacy are essential requirements for this role.The successful applicant must be a committed Evangelical Christian with a genuine heart for the poor, spiritually and emotionally mature, cross culturally aware and sensitive. DARFUR - Water & Sanitation Project Manager
To start Dec 08 for 12-24 months. Do you have proven experience in the practical design and implementation of water supply and sanitation projects and the management and technical skills to supervise project teams in an overseas context?
