SOUTH SUDAN - Safety Advisor
Post Title: Safety Advisor Location: Juba, Southern Sudan Length of Assignment: 3 months We are seeking an experienced individual with proven NGO and relief experience in insecure environments for our Disaster Management Team Programme in Southern Sudan; to provide advice and assistance to support security, health and safety management in all the programme’s activities. Key responsibilities will include remaining and keeping senior management well briefed on all security developments in the programme area, ensuring all activities are carried out with due regard to the security environment; developing and maintaining Tearfund’s safety policy and assisting field management in maintaining practical facilities; liaising with other organisations, notably UNDSS, to coordinate security plans and information exchange; and monitoring the outworking of Tearfund’s health and safety policies,  recommending any issues of compliance to be addressed.  The post holder will not have responsibility for making autonomous security decisions, but will provide information and advice to managers to assist in their decision-making. Ideal candidates will have proven NGO and relief experience, be trained in security awareness and risk management and have practical competencies in radio and satellite communications.  Candidates need strong interpersonal and administration skills, including report writing; they should be able to demonstrate a high level of flexibility with proven ability in negotiation, representation, analytical and problem solving skills.   The role includes regular travel around the Southern Sudan programme.   All International posts involve potential contact with children and the recruitment process will include specific checks relating to child protection issuesApplicants must be committed to Tearfund’s evangelical Christian beliefs.Tearfund is committed to the People in Aid Code of Best Practice

Area Coordinator - North Afghanistan
AREA CO-ORDINATOR (North Afghanistan) To start: ASAP Tearfund requires an experienced manager to manage, in liaison with the Programme Director, a new project site and team based in north Afghanistan. Regular travel to Kabul will also be required. The successful candidate will have relevant relief experience plus proven management and leadership skills, coupled with experience in project design management, finance and strategic planning. Responsibilities include regular communication with other agencies, partner organisations and with the Programme Director, the writing of project reports to relevant donors and monthly written reports on all field activities. Experience of working in an insecure environment is essential.  The job holder will need to work without direct supervision. Relevant overseas experience and good cross-cultural awareness are essential, combined with a genuine heart for the poor. Applicants must be committed to Tearfund's evangelical Christian beliefs. RUSSIA- Country Representative, HIV

HIV Country Representative - Russia Based in  RussiaContract length: 3 years Do you have an experience in designing and implementing an effective country strategy?  Tearfund is looking for a HIV Country Representative for Russia.  The role involves strategic planning; community management of a partner portfolio; resource management; leadership and staff development; along with ensuring all aspects of in-country security and health and safety. You will have substantial proven experience in community development, predominantly based in a developing country; strategic planning and thinking; leadership; project management and evaluation; and budget management.  The applicant will also have proven work experience in HIV programmes.   Excellent written and spoken English is essential and the applicant must have proven ability in written and spoken Russian.  You will also possess good interpersonal and negotiation skills.          Applicants must be committed to Tearfund's evangelical Christian beliefs.
