Prayer made possible - The Easter issue
'Prayer is not what it cost us, but what it cost God to enable us to pray.' Oswald Chambers
Easter. That immense, miraculous foundation of our faith is about to be celebrated in chocolate once again - the Christian's annual acknowledgement of the barely comprehensible. Now we can have a relationship with the living God. And now we can pray. This month we thank God for making prayer possible, and we get cracking using it, along with a whole lot of other people all over the world. |

'It's prayer that will bring peace. We need God's intervention. This is a spiritual issue.' Kenyan Tearfund staff worker Peter Gitau is in no doubt as to the nature of the darkness that has spread across Kenya. But as the church mobilises itself in reconciliation and prayer, he's clearly not alone. |

Doctor and pastor Jonathan Oloyede is a man on a mission. That mission is prayer. It's one shared by Tearfund. On 11 May Tearfund joins with the Global Day of Prayer London initiative to come together in prayer, both in London, and across the UK. You could be there too. Here, we meet Pastor Jonathan to learn about his vision for prayer. |

Prayer. It's hard to imagine life without it, even if it sometimes seems difficult, or so easy to forget. But what makes it possible? Was the immense sacrifice and effort of Easter all to achieve a path for our prayers? |
