'My Mum was an enthusiastic, prayerful & financial supporter of the work of TearFund for decades. She gave very regularly to its work- nearly every 3rd cheque in her cheque book was for TearFund. Mum felt that God had blessed her with so much & so she should use that blessing to help others in need. Mum & Dad also inspired their 7 children to think of others & support the work of Christian organisations like TearFund & many mission organisations & missionaries, just as they did. They could have, but chose not to live an extravagant lifestyle , instead using their money for The Lord’s work. So they are my example to continue this sort of support which I do in the name of my parents Ruth & William Ward- Both now promoted to glory & no doubt meeting people who were helped by their generosity!'
