Step out in tartan

We’re looking forward to the 2022 Kiltwalk – a unique and incredibly fun opportunity to step up and step out (in your best tartan!) to raise funds for a charity close to your heart.

Have recent restrictions left your trusty kilt and sporran gathering dust in the cupboard? If you’re feeling scunnered at having fewer opportunities for a guid knees-up, we’d like to suggest this is the perfect moment to dust down that Royal Stewart (or whichever is your preferred clan!) and join the masses (safely, in the great Scottish outdoors!) for something a bit different to the usual shindig.

Something that will make a life-changing difference where it is needed most.

We’d love you to walk for Tearfund.

Your participation in the Kiltwalk will help us to transform the lives of families living in poverty around the world.

By choosing to walk for us, you walk with us – responding to those most vulnerable and in greatest need, and partnering with the local church around the world to bring much-needed hope.

The amazing added extra is that The Hunter Foundation will add an additional 50% of what you raise onto the total*, helping your money go even further to make a lasting difference.

*The fundraising top up limit for 2022 runs from 1st January 2022 to 31st December 2022 and is £5000 per walker or donor. This is a cumulative limit for all Kiltwalk events in the above period. All fundraising top ups are subject to deadlines and Trustee approval.

‘My friend Moira from church and I are excited about taking part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk this year. It will be fun to dress up in tartan together and get out walking to support Tearfund’s incredible work. It’s especially good knowing that our fundraising will be matched by a further 50%.’ – Anne, Linwood Baptist Church

Join Team Tearfund today

Once you have signed up to take part in the Kiltwalk on their website, selecting Tearfund as your charity of choice, you will receive a Kiltwalk pack (no less than one week before the event) filled with all the information you need before you set off on your Kiltwalk event. This includes: an ID card, a walker guide, a route map and your meal voucher.

In addition, when you fundraise for us, you’ll receive:

  • a welcome email and a free t-shirt to wear on the day
  • support from our dedicated fundraising team to achieve your target
  • regular emails updating you with hints and tips to successfully complete your Kiltwalk challenge

In return, we’re asking all our Kiltwalkers to aim to raise at least £150 for Tearfund. That means when your fundraising gets topped up by 50%, we will receive £225.

Every £225 raised will go towards helping people like Tarfa, who had to escape violence in her home village in Iraq.
