Your donation is urgently needed

A deadly earthquake measuring 7.7 magnitude struck central Myanmar on 28 March, destroying lives across the region.

Over 3,500 people have been killed and 5,000 injured. Many more are still buried in the rubble, and these numbers are expected to rise.

Those who survived the terrifying earthquake now face a desperate humanitarian crisis.

  • People are in urgent need of medical care, shelter, food and water, and access to safe sanitation and hygiene.
  • Hospitals are so overwhelmed that injured patients are being treated in car parks and streets.
  • Essential infrastructure like roads, electricity and internet have been severely damaged, making communication challenging.

Jesus calls us to stand alongside people in crisis. Will you make a life-saving donation today?

Please donate to provide life-saving aid for people recovering from disaster.

How is Tearfund responding?

Right now, we're actively supporting our local partners in Myanmar to assess the extent of the damage and risk to communities.

Tearfund's partners are:

  • providing immediate cash assistance so people can buy food and other essentials
  • carrying out search and rescue efforts to find people trapped in the rubble

Please donate if you can, and pray with us for people affected by this devastating earthquake.
