I already have a place in a different running event, can I still run for you?
Absolutely. Simply sign up to join the team and receive your personal fundraising pack, with your Tearfund T-shirt or running vest, water bottle and plenty of support as you get ready for the big day!
Do I need to register my place on the official running event website as well as signing up on your website?
When you’ve signed up with Tearfund we will send you a link for you to register with the event. It is very important you then click on the link, fill out the required details – pay any fees for entering – and submit them to secure your place.
I want to run for Tearfund but I don’t see an event listed I can attend. What should I do?
Whatever the event – from a local fun run to a 5K or 10K, to a half or full marathon – you can run and fundraise for Tearfund. It doesn’t need to be an event listed on our website. Once you’ve secured a place at your chosen event, fill out the form. Although we won’t be there to cheer you on, we will provide all the support you need before and after the run, as you train and fundraise.
Is there a registration fee for the events?
Yes. When you have signed up with us you must then register with the event and pay any entry fees required to secure your place. See the individual event pages for details of the fees they charge.
Will I meet up with other Team Tearfund runners / supporters on the day?
Yes! There will be a dedicated support team on the day and we will arrange a meeting point to get together with everyone taking part, both before and after the event. More details will follow in the emails you'll receive in the lead-up to the event when you sign up.
I want to set up a team to run and fundraise together, can I do that?
Yes! The more the merrier. We’d love you to involve your friends, family or congregation. Simply choose the ‘create a team' option on our form when you sign up, so that we can create a Team page for you. Or, if you've already set up a JustGiving page, follow these simple instructions on how to do it via your JustGiving account:
- Step 1: Log in to your JustGiving account
- Step 2: Select the ‘Your pages’ tab
- Step 3: Click ‘Start a new team’
- Step 4: Enter the details of your team page
- Step 5: Click ‘Make a team page’
Then you can invite your friends to join by email, Facebook or Twitter by clicking on one of the ‘share on’ buttons on our website. Once they are on-board send them your JustGiving team page and ask them to click to ‘Join the team’.
When will I receive my Fundraiser Pack, Tearfund T-shirt / running vest, iron-on letters and water bottle?
As soon as you sign up to fundraise, we will get in touch to arrange your Fundraiser Pack, Tearfund T-shirt / running vest and water bottle. Your iron-on letters will be sent approximately two weeks prior to your event.
How do I pay in my money?

If you’re fundraising through other means, you can pay in online.
To give via bank transfer, please credit Tearfund, Account no 53803058, Sort Code 20-00-00. Please ensure you tell us which event the proceeds are from.
Can I get sponsorship offline?
Yes! Please use the sponsor form in our resources section. Make sure each person fills in their details with their name, address and postcode, so we can claim Gift Aid on any donations – otherwise we can’t claim.
Is there a minimum fundraising commitment?
We recommend a target of £360 per person… but feel free to set your own target!
What does the money raised go towards?
The money will go towards our worldwide work to beat poverty. We work through the local church to empower communities to lift themselves out of poverty. This will help people like Ruth.
Who can I contact if I have more questions?
