Across Tanzania, a lack of access to basic services like education and health care, and high rates of HIV, means that many of Tanzania’s population live in poverty. Despite some economic growth, 28 percent of the population live on less than one pound per day.
You’ll be spending your placement working in the Geita region alongside African Inland Church Tanzania (AICT). Their work includes providing higher levels of education in local schools, running health and hygiene training in schools and villages, and supporting those living with HIV.
In everything they do, AICT aim to transform lives by empowering people to lift themselves out of poverty. Alongside their other projects they have provided wells which are maintained by local churches in each village, providing sustainable access to clean water for local people.
You’ll have the chance to work with AICT, building relationship and sharing God’s love in practical ways to see lives transformed.
