How can we help you?

Firstly, thank you for all the work you are doing as an executor or solicitor. We understand that this can be a daunting task, and if you need any help, please do not hesitate to contact our legacies team at email [email protected] or call 020 3906 3422.

While we are unable to provide legal advice, we are happy to offer guidance where we can. The Institute of Legacy Management has written a helpful guide for executors, which you may also find useful.

What information does Tearfund need from you?

At Tearfund, we administer all legacy gifts in accordance with the guidelines set down by the Charity Commission.

If we have been left a share of an estate, we would be very grateful to receive the following:

  • A copy of the will
  • A list of the assets and liabilities of the estate
  • A copy of the estate accounts (when you are ready to make the final payments from the estate)
  • A tax deduction certificate (form R185)

If we have been left a fixed sum, then we do not need to see any of the additional information listed above.

How can I pay a legacy gift to Tearfund?

Legacies can be paid by cheque or bank transfer.

Cheques should be made payable to ‘Tearfund’ and sent with a covering letter to: Legacy Team, Tearfund, 100 Church Road, Teddington, Middlesex, TW11 8QE.

If you would prefer to make a bank transfer, please contact our Legacy Team beforehand either by email: [email protected] or by phone: 020 3906 3422 to arrange this.
