A huge explosion has devastated the capital city of Lebanon. Over a hundred people have been killed, thousands wounded, and tens of thousands more made homeless.
This is a country already suffering beneath the weight of an economic crisis, growing food insecurity, and widespread poverty.
Tearfund’s local partners are working flat-out to help the most vulnerable – distributing thousands of hot meals, as well as vouchers to enable those most in need to buy food and hygiene items. Our partner churches and faith organisations are also giving emotional support to families, and providing shelter for those who have lost their homes.
Please donate now to support this vital work.
In the event that we raise more than is needed to support our partners, your gift will be spent where the need is greatest.
Tearfund has been working in Lebanon since 2013, responding to the crisis caused by the conflict in Syria. Around 1.5 million refugees call Lebanon their home – 25 per cent of the whole population – many living in makeshift accommodation in Beirut’s slums.
