Violence in Myanmar has led to over 500,000 Rohingya people fleeing over the border to Bangladesh. Exhausted families are surviving in very basic conditions – many without shelter or clean water.
‘Three weeks ago, I had a husband and four children. Our village was attacked. My husband decapitated. While fleeing for our lives, I lost two of my children.’ – Ume, aged 27
Tearfund has launched an appeal as part of the Disasters Emergency Committee. We have partners on the ground responding right now – providing life-saving hygiene kits and safe drinking water to traumatised families like Ume’s. They are also giving medical assistance, as there is a high risk of deadly outbreaks of disease.
Desperate families urgently need your help. Please give what you can today.
We know there are so many emergency needs across the world right now. We’re called to follow Jesus where the need is greatest, so please pray for the hundreds of thousands of people – mostly Rohingya women and children – whose lives are being brutally torn apart.
In the event that we raise more than is needed to support our work, your gift will be spent on reducing the impact of future disasters.
