Tearfund’s Middle East and North Africa region spans diverse countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and northern parts of Africa. This week, pray for peace, stability and provision for the people of Afghanistan, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen.
Sunday 16 March
The humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan remains critical, with millions facing extreme poverty, food insecurity and lack of healthcare. Malnutrition is widespread, especially among children and women. Pray for access to food, education, clean water and the provision of essential services as natural disasters worsen the situation.
Monday 17 March
Lebanon faces immense challenges, hosting 1.5 million Syrian refugees and grappling with the aftermath due to the Israel-Gaza conflict. Many displaced Lebanese cannot return to damaged homes. Pray for God’s comfort and peace for those affected and for strengthened community relationships. May God bless our partners’ vital peacebuilding efforts.
Tuesday 18 March
Lebanon’s ongoing economic, social and political turmoil has created a humanitarian crisis. Pray for Tearfund supporters' continued compassion and generosity as we work with churches and local partners to alleviate suffering in Lebanon. Ask God to open up access to humanitarian aid for the many thousands of displaced people and for lasting peace, healing and the restoration of communities.
Wednesday 19 March
Pray for peace and stability in Syria, still devastated by 12 years of conflict and a catastrophic earthquake. Millions are displaced and communities struggle to rebuild amid uncertainty.
Thursday 20 March
Pray for protection over vulnerable families in Syria, and for wisdom and resilience for our team and partners as they provide vital support. May God’s love bring healing and hope to those who have endured so much.
Friday 21 March
Yemen faces one of the world's worst humanitarian crises, with millions suffering from extreme hunger, disease and lack of basic services. Widespread malnutrition affects children severely, while access to clean water and healthcare remains scarce. Pray that Tearfund and our partners can reach people in greatest need.
Saturday 22 March
Pray for peace during this time of increased violence in Yemen, that Yemenis can meet their critical needs and that our partners can deliver timely relief in a challenging environment. Ask God to renew their strength as our partners work diligently to meet the needs of their communities.
