Zambakro in Ivory Coast is a village that has experienced significant changes and improvements since it has trained people and put into action Tearfund’s Church and Community Transformation (CCT) process. This week, pray that the wider community will see the transformation and join with the church programme.

Sunday 16 July

Mme Kouassi is a CCT facilitator in Zambakro. She has seen many lives transformed but asks for prayer for more. ‘Pray for people in the village to know God more and cling to him,’ she says. ‘We have a church here, but many people don’t really know God. I know that when you are close to God your life is better.’

Monday 17 July

The CCT training has been a great success. ‘There have been a lot of changes and transformation in the church,’ says Pastor Amani from Zambakro. ‘Thanks to CCT, some people have been able to pay for their houses and others have been able to get out of their poor living conditions.’ Give thanks for these blessings.

Tuesday 18 July

Before the CCT training, Evariste used to struggle to provide for his two children. ‘Thanks to CCT, my farm is big now,’ he says. ‘I can support myself and take care of the entire family.’ Praise God that CCT also brought Evariste back to church. ‘After the CCT training, I now go to church every Sunday.’

Wednesday 19 July

François’s work as a motor tricycle driver is not enough to provide for him. But he is inspired by the example of his brother, Evariste. ‘I can see that the CCT training is good,’ he says. ‘I want to be like Evariste. If going to church made him like this, I'm ready to go to church.’ Pray that François will go to church and be inspired to join the CCT programme.

Thursday 20 July

CCT helps people find their identity in God. ‘I was serving God but I did not know I belonged to God,’ says Eudoxie.‘With CCT I realised that everything I have is a resource that God has given me.’ Pray that more people in Zambakro and across Ivory Coast will be touched by God and see themselves and their potential differently.

Friday 21 July

‘In the past, when I had money, I did not have God in my mind,’ says Mme Kouassi. ‘I did not think of my brothers and sisters around me. CCT came to teach us through the Bible. We now know we need to love and care even for those who are not Christian.’ Pray that Zambakro Church will be successful in reaching out to the whole community.

Saturday 22 July

Join Pastor Amani in prayer: ‘I pray that those who have not met or encountered Christ, that that door will be opened for them to meet Christ. I pray also for healing for all those who are sick. God is the God of all people. I pray that the hand of God will provide everyone here with divine healing in the name of Jesus.’
