Sarah Newnham, Head of Eurasia and North Africa said, "We are horrified to hear of the recent chemical attack in Syria and stand together with the thousands of women, men and children who have been harmed by this gruesome act of violence. As the conflict enters its seventh year, we continue to pray, hope and push for a peaceful resolution.
We have been working through local partners in Syria and in neighbouring countries including Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, since the crisis began, providing food, clean water, clothing and trauma care for some of the hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing their homes.
We continue to work through local churches to promote peace, reconciliation and forgiveness and will remain in the region for as long as we are needed".
