This picture above shows the importance of poultry as one of the branches of agriculture. In South Sudan, small scale poultry systems are important as for food security. In many cultures, chicken can be a source of bonding, enjoyment, especially when well cooked and fried. Everyone is happy with good food. A source of eggs and income as well. Chicken also is used for sibir in many tribes which means a traditional rite or cultural practice. Among other tribes, it can be a source of dowry when marrying that beautiful girl who is to be your life partner. That still falls under bonding. That’s security to me. Everything is valuable when accorded its rightful usage and exploitation that aims towards a better life, peace, harmony and security: Photo by Martin
