Middle East Humanitarian Appeal

Conflict in the Middle East has devastated lives across the region and forced people from their homes in search of safety.

Right now, millions of people across Gaza, Lebanon and the wider region are in urgent need of food, shelter and medical care. The ceasefire in Gaza is a welcome first step but it must lead to a lasting peace that allows all people in the region to live in safety. There is much to do to ensure the most vulnerable are protected and peace lasts. 

The suffering across the region has devastated lives.

• More than 46,000 Palestinians have been killed.
• Homes have been reduced to rubble. Classrooms and hospitals are a dusty wreckage. 
• Around 1.9 million people in Gaza have been forced to flee their homes.
• In Lebanon, airstrikes have killed thousands and displaced more than a million people, putting further strain on extremely limited resources.

How Tearfund is responding

We're currently working with local churches and partners across the Middle East.

• In Gaza, International Health Partners is providing life-saving medicine and desperately needed healthcare.
• In Lebanon, we're working through local churches to provide food, mattresses and other essentials to people forced from their homes by the fighting.
• In the West Bank, we're working with the Diocese of Jerusalem who are providing healthcare and education to those affected.
