Welcome to Tearfund’s Pilgrimage
We invite you to join us on a journey. A journey that begins with Christ entering Jerusalem in triumph, and unfolds daily, leading us right up to his resurrection.
Tearfund’s Pilgrimage is an eight part audio resource designed for you to use individually or with your church, as you explore Christ’s story of salvation this Holy Week.
Created alongside Fiona Stewart from Foolproof Creative Arts, Pilgrimage also features many voices from Tearfund’s work around the world.
While we suggest that this resource is ideal for Holy week, 28 March – 3 April, it can be used any time of year, and is a great opportunity to take time to reflect and travel with Jesus daily.
What should I expect?
Traditionally, a pilgrimage is a devotional practice consisting of a contemplative journey, toward a specific destination of significance.
Tearfund’s Pilgrimage resource contains eight individually themed sessions, each designed to help guide you through a reflective exploration of Christ’s story during Holy week, as well as hearing how the story of Christ continues in the world today through stories from Tearfund's partners.
Each audio session is around eight to ten minutes long and includes a new part of the Easter story to consider, prayer, time for reflection, and a little more about Tearfund’s work through the worldwide church.
If you plan to use the resource on your own, you might like to download each audio session onto your phone and take a walk around your local area, immersing yourself in the story and making a conscious effort to take the time and walk in step with God, listening to his voice.
However, if you plan to use the resource with your church, we have created a guide on how to use it in both a digital and physical setting (when it is safe to do so again). This could include setting up prayer stations in different locations to offer your congregation a pilgrimage journey right where you are.
