Volunteer in Bangladesh this summer and spend three months supporting Tearfund’s partner, Baptist Aid-BCFF, and their work alongside children who have little or no access to education, family support or health services

Tearfund has supported partners in Bangladesh since the late 1960s and currently partners with 7 organisations across the country, building resilience in vulnerable communities, particularly in the area of climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction and resilience.

Baptist Aid-BBCF is the aid and development arm of Bangladesh Baptist Church Fellowship (BBCF), the largest Protestant denomination in Bangladesh, and has been providing support to poor and distressed people since its beginning.

The main focus of Baptist Aid-BBCF is to help develop the children in the local community by providing education and establishing child rights. Children of poor families have little access to enjoy their lives and to participate in social events. The social rights of these children have been ignored by community people. Baptist Aid-BBCF has been trying to educate the ignored children and to establish their rights through its ‘Child Friendly Community Development Project’.

This is an amazing opportunity to live and learn alongside the staff.

So, are you ready?

Three months in Bangladesh will both challenge you personally and stretch your faith. You will experience how the local church is at the heart of tackling poverty and injustice and have the chance to show God’s love in practical ways as you visit and learn from inspirational communities.

Who are we looking for?

What will you be doing?

  • Participation in community activities and programmes, such as anti-drug awareness, environmental conservation, flood preparedness etc.
  • Working and serving alongside the ‘Skills and Leadership Development' program for youth

Amazing 5 months where I made some amazing friends. I grew personally in so many ways and have come home with a renewed attitude to serving God and fighting poverty at home.

Dave Burt

Being in Malawi has challenged me spiritually and it has made me look at the world through the way God sees the world. I have, along with my team, seen issues of injustice and poverty and believe that God has put a passion in our hearts, as a team, to want to do something about it.

Tim Perkin

My time spent in Cambodia is one that I will never forget. I was affected most by the relationships that I formed with my team and CHO staff. They have been amazing and the experiences we have shared together have made us bond like no other friendship I have had before.
