Tamam used to live a quiet and comfortable life in Northern Syria, with her loving husband and children.
But when the conflict came to her village, everything began to fall apart. ISIS occupied the area, and soon life became more restricted. There was no electricity or running water, the crops and animals died, and food became scarce.
Tamam’s husband was tragically killed, forcing Tamam to flee with her children. They joined around 1 million Syrians escaping the war to live in Lebanon.
Now they live in a makeshift settlement in the middle of a slum.
