Our anti-racism statement outlines Tearfund’s commitment to being an actively anti-racist organisation. You can read the full statement below.

Tearfund’s anti-racism statement

At Tearfund, we believe every person is made in the image of God. Racism is unacceptable because we recognise the God-given value of every human being. That’s why we work together with respect and compassion. We seek unity in the beautiful, diverse world God has made.

‘So God created human beings in his own likeness.’
Genesis 1:27

What anti-racism work has Tearfund done?

  • We've built a dedicated team to grow deeper relationships with Black Majority Churches. Our goal is to ensure that the whole UK church is invited to play its part in ending extreme poverty.

  • We’re changing how decisions are made. We created a Global Leadership Team, which ensures that our Country Directors – those closest to the communities we serve – are leading the way.
