In November the UK will host the UN climate talks, COP26, in Glasgow. It’s time for the Prime Minister and other world leaders to step up and take transformative action to help end the climate crisis – but politicians need to hear that we want them to act.

Will you make your voice heard by emailing your MP to let them know you want to see urgent climate action that shows compassion for our global neighbours and builds a better world for everyone? Now is a great opportunity to influence your MP, show that you care about the climate crisis and ask them to represent your concerns.

You can find your MP’s contact details on the UK Parliament website here.
  • It’s important to make the letter personal to you, but here are some points you might like to include:

    • Tell your MP why you personally care about the climate crisis.
    • Ask for their support ahead of the UN climate talks in Glasgow in November.
    • Ask them to make the strongest possible case to ministers for commitments that underpin the UK’s contributions to limiting global warming to 1.5°C. This should include keeping fossil fuels in the ground, significantly increasing financial commitments to vulnerable countries, securing millions of green jobs in the UK, and escalating the protection of nature at home and abroad.
    • Remind them how much is at stake, including protecting our eco-systems, the world’s most vulnerable people and our places of natural beauty.
    • Highlight the opportunities in taking urgent climate action, from creating new green jobs and cleaning up the polluted air to building back better from the pandemic and protecting those living in poverty.
    • Include your full name and address, and ask for a reply.
