Churches, communities and inspiring individuals across the UK are walking the talk when it comes to tackling poverty and the climate crisis. In our video series we’re sharing the stories of three such change-makers about their journeys.

Annabelle's story

In this video we spoke to Annabelle South, a climate activist and medical researcher in Dorking. Annabelle leads the Eco Church team at St Paul’s Dorking. She founded the Creation Care scheme, an initiative similar to the Eco Church scheme, that encourages households to make changes at home to care for God’s earth.

Nathan Hunt, Pastor of Shinfield Baptist church

In this video we spoke to Nathan Hunt, the pastor of Shinfield Baptist church in Reading. Nathan shares how he and his church went on a journey from having little involvement in climate action to organising and leading a local march for the climate during COP26 in November 2021.

We spoke to Rachel Parrott from New Life Baptist Church in Northallerton. Rachel is the chair of One Northallerton One Planet, an eco-group that brings together churches from across the community. Rachel also shares how her church journeyed towards declaring a climate emergency and how they are engaging with their local MP, Rishi Sunak.
