Why should I write a will?
A valid will ensures that your estate is distributed according to your wishes. It enables you to make sure for your family and loved ones are taken care of, and gives you the opportunity to make a lasting difference to the causes close to your heart.
What type of gift can I leave to Tearfund in my will?
Residuary gift – This is a percentage or share of the balance of your estate once all other payments and gifts have been made. Many people prefer to give a residuary gift because it keeps in line with inflation and doesn't lose value over time.
Pecuniary gift – This is a fixed sum of money.
Specific gift – This is a possession or item such as jewellery, property or shares.
