Why Crisis Response Fund?
After a natural disaster, the first 72 hours is the most critical life saving period. During this time, rescuers will focus their efforts on search and rescue, finding survivors and life saving medical triage. How much can be done in these first three days will also depend on how much aid and resources can be distributed into the hands of those in need.
The Crisis Response Fund is designed for this critical window of time. It's a ready pool of money that can be released immediately to be used for the people in the midst of a typhoon, earthquake or tsunami. It gives Tearfund and our partners the resources and money to be able to quickly spring into action in the wake of any disaster. Instead of waiting for funds to come through from campaigns and donations.
By giving to the Crisis Response Fund, you are helping communities in eight countries across Asia prepare for disaster and save lives. Your donation will go towards disaster preparation and reaching out to those in desperate need in their darkest hour.
