Be one of 500 quizzing churches

Big Quiz Night is back on Saturday 16 November!

We want to see 500 UK churches taking part in our quiz to help bring an end to extreme poverty. Will your church be one of them?

Why host a Big Quiz Night?

  • Invite your community to church for some poverty-beating, community-building fun.
  • It’s easy to host – we’ll send you all the resources you need, for free!
  • Every pound you raise will help transform the lives of people living in poverty.
‘It was great to see so many of our local community join us for a fantastic evening full of laughter!’
Peter Walters, King’s Church Iver

Sign up, invite your community, and have a great time quizzing the night away.

Transforming communities, one quiz at a time

The money your quiz raises will support our Transforming Communities programme, helping local churches around the world lead their communities out of extreme poverty and into a sustainable future.

You’ll support people like Julius in South Sudan, who listened to Tearfund’s training on Hope FM, a local radio station, and learned how to use new farming methods to earn a steady income.

‘Without this training, we would still be stuck in our old lifestyle,’ says Julius. ‘We had no idea how to transform the soil to produce more. [Tearfund’s training] has inspired me to discover what is within our environment.’

Photo of a church congregation in a spacious building participating in a quiz event. The room is decorated with colorful banners, and people are sitting at tables with pens and paper, looking engaged and excited. A podium with a big screen reading 'Big Quiz Night' is visible at the front of the room.
Photo 1 shows a group of people sitting around a table, actively engaged in a quiz game. The participants are holding pens and looking at the quiz sheets. In the background, there are other tables with people seated, indicating the presence of multiple teams participating in the quiz. The scene exudes a fun and competitive atmosphere with people laughing and enjoying the experience. Photo 2 shows a man and a woman wearing bright yellow Tearfund branded t-shirts, standing side by side and smiling at the camera. The man is on the right side of the image, wearing a jacket and the woman, who is standing next on the left, is holding a cup in her hands. Illustrations of Sherlock Holmes and Peter Pan characters are interacting with the photos on a blue background. The illustration depicts Sherlock Holmes in his classic detective attire, holding a magnifying glass and a smoking pipe, while Peter Pan is shown in green flying with his arms open and carrying a musical golden pipe.
