Unsafe water takes children’s lives
Every day, unsafe water causes severe illness and death for thousands of small children around the world.
In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), mothers like Rose, pictured, have already been through the unimaginable. They have shielded their children from the violence of the war. Held them through chaos and loss. And carried them to what should be safety.
But after all that, their children are still at grave risk from unsafe water. A single sip of unsafe water can shut down a small body. It can break fragile systems from the inside. It is a slow, painful crisis for a child’s body – and it is costing three times more lives than the violence in countries affected by conflict around the world.
When a mother has already done the unimaginable for their child, we cannot sit back and let their child be taken from them by unsafe water. We must act with love, just as Jesus showed us.
