Prayer changes lives. It is one of the most powerful tools we have in advancing God’s kingdom, and it underpins our mission at Tearfund to empower people to lift themselves out of poverty. Yet, with the big challenges that the world is facing – for example, extreme poverty, conflict and the climate crisis – it can be hard to know how or what to pray for.
To support you and your church as you engage with these big issues, we have created some resources to help you set up a prayer room.
A prayer room is a space set aside in your church, home, office or another building that is dedicated to inspiring people to pray and soak in God’s presence. They can be a brilliant way for people to return to this essential part of our faith, and engage with issues that they might otherwise struggle with.
Our prayer room guides include: praying for the global church, praying for the climate crisis, praying for people affected by conflict, and praying for ‘forgotten’ crises that rarely make the news.
