‘Since the 11 ESEA team members are scattered across eight countries, please pray for my effective leadership in building tight bonding within the team, and providing visional and strategic guidance that can inspire and encourage each of them.’
Monday 14 July
From Hebdavi Kyeya, Regional Director, East and Central Africa (ECA)
‘This has been a tough time for myself and DRC colleagues as we have faced the one year anniversary of the passing of our colleagues, Jonas and John, in the attacks last year. Many memories have come flooding back to the surface and we have found it very difficult and strange to navigate the emotions, pain and hard questions that it brings up. We would really appreciate your prayer support around that.
‘On a lighter note, my kids are about to be out of school for two months and, like many parents around the world, I would love prayer that the holidays are a time of rest, joy and peace for them (and us) and that, as a family, we manage to balance work and the children’s (abundant!) free time well.’

‘As the SEA region, we want to thank God for the blessings of abundant rains and harvest. We acknowledge his mercies and goodness in the land of living where we have starved before, but now we have access to abundant food and rain! Thank you, Lord! We pray for good governance and leadership in our countries.
‘Personally, I would like to give thanks to God for his provision, love, mercies, good health and favour in my family. I am in awe of his goodness during this season and I thank him for looking after everyone in my family and blessing us.’

‘I pray for God to bless Tearfund and our partners in Mozambique as we work towards a fundraising goal of £1.5 million for the year 2025/26.

Thursday 17 July

‘We recently held our first Holistic Transformation Asia Consultation in Bangkok, a gathering of 46 key leaders from 14 countries, who collectively represent nearly 50,000 churches and over 10 million people. We will be holding a virtual reunion/follow-up gathering to discuss next steps and key priorities. Please pray that the leaders will prioritise attending and engaging with this space, and that we have a meaningful way forward, especially in terms of Tearfund’s role in facilitating that space to accompany and influence churches as centres of transformation across Asia.

‘Pray for God to give me wisdom and resilience as I lead the WA region through the challenging times the world and our sector are going through. May he guide me to speak with wisdom, listen with understanding, act with integrity and be a source of encouragement to my colleagues in these challenging times.
‘We are currently exploring funding for two major projects that could really foster the impact of our work in the region. I would value prayers for all the conversations we are having around these two initiatives, for the key stakeholders (internal and external) we are meeting, and for productive and conclusive interactions.’

‘We pray for the safety and protection of churches and communities amid conflict, hoping they remain secure havens of peace and hope, shielded from harm. We also lift up all our staff and partner staff, asking for their wellbeing, agility and safety as they carry out vital work. Finally, we pray for the expansion and growth of our work, seeking new opportunities, fruitful partnerships and increased impact to transform communities in the region.’
