Getting started with online fundraising

  • JustGiving is our chosen fundraising platform – you can set up your fundraising page through visiting JustGiving directly.

  • When you sign into your JustGiving account, you will see all of your fundraising pages. You can click a button that says ‘edit’ in the corner of the picture to make changes.

  • Yes! The more the merrier. We’d love for you to involve your friends, family or congregation. There’s strength in numbers and the challenge is more fun when you team up with others.

  • JustGiving does not charge a platform fee on any individual donations made to charities. Instead they give donors the option to make a voluntary contribution to the cost of maintaining the platform if they wish. There are some small fees which are outlined here, that help to ensure that donors get an efficient service in order for us to raise more money.

  • We will automatically receive the money from JustGiving, so there is nothing that you need to do. Your page will automatically close too – the date for this can be found if you click on ‘edit my page’

Paying in your money

  • You can pay in any money raised offline by bank transfer or cheque.

    For bank transfers, please send your money to the following account:
    Account name: Tearfund
    Account number: 53803058 
    Sort code: 20-00-00

    If you have paid in your money by bank transfer, please email [email protected] to let us know the amount you pay in. Title your email ‘Fundraising’ and include your Tearfund supporter number if you know it.

    If you would like to send the sponsorship money by cheque, please send a cheque payable to Tearfund, along with any sponsor forms to: Tearfund 100 Church Road, Teddington, TW11 8QE (and make sure you tell us it’s from your personal fundraising).

  • Gift Aid can only be claimed on individual donations. For online fundraising via JustGiving, anyone who sponsors you will be given the opportunity to add Gift Aid when they donate.

    If you are fundraising offline, we have Gift Aid forms that you can give to anyone who wants to add Gift Aid to their donation (make sure you send the forms to us with your sponsorship money).

    Unfortunately, we cannot claim Gift Aid from donations from groups or organisations such as a church, school, or company, or proceeds from the sale of goods or services i.e. Big Bake.
