Lord, we thank you for the call to transformation in Romans 12:2. You ask us not to conform to the patterns of this world, but to be renewed. Help us to embrace this inward change, so that our actions – giving, praying and acting – are a true reflection of our hearts. Amen.
Monday 9 March
‘Connecting with Tearfund’s work reminds me that the world is bigger than what I perceive it to be,’ says Helen. ‘It gives me the ability to be engaged, to participate with others and to contribute to change.’ Lord, we pray for all those who give generously. Strengthen our faith as we lift up those in need and draw closer to you. Amen.

‘Tearfund has helped me search the character of God and his heart for people living in poverty,’ says Helena, a Tearfund church representative. Lord, we pray that you would give us a passion for justice. Open our eyes to the people in greatest need in our communities and around the world, and empower us to act justly. Amen.

‘While we are a deprived community in some ways, Tearfund helps us see a global picture,’ says Lachlan, a church leader. Lord, we thank you for the way that a perspective shaped by communities around the world allows us to see our own circumstances differently. Help us to recognise how blessed we are so that we can be a blessing to others. Amen.

Collective action has led to meaningful policy changes, as seen in the Make Poverty History and Rubbish Campaign successes. Lord, we know that our voices are stronger together. We pray for all who advocate for justice and for an end to poverty. Use our united efforts to bring about real and lasting change. Amen.
