Prayer changes lives. It is one of the most powerful tools we have in advancing God’s kingdom, and it underpins our mission at Tearfund to support people to lift themselves out of poverty. Yet, with the big challenges that the world is facing – extreme poverty, conflict and the climate crisis – it can be hard to know what to pray for.
To support you and your church as you engage with these big issues, we have created resources to help you set up a prayer room.
A prayer room is a space set aside in your church, home, office or another building that is dedicated to inspiring people to pray and soak in God’s presence. It can be a brilliant way for people to return to this essential part of our faith and engage with issues that they might otherwise struggle with.
Our prayer stations include: Tearfund’s work through the global church, the climate crisis, people affected by conflict, emergencies and disaster response, and those facing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).
You can use these stations in your existing prayer room or as a dedicated prayer room for global issues. There is also a five-day prayer guide for you and your church or small group, and ‘Prayers for others’ for your church service.
