Tearfund works in more than 50 countries around the world. We rely on our global staff to gather and share the stories of what we are doing and the people we are serving so that we can pass them on to you, our praying supporters.
This week, we asked some of our global teams to share a few prayer requests from the region where they work as they look ahead to 2026. Why not take a region or country per day over the coming week and pray for God to move powerfully there this year? Thank you for your faithful prayers, which make such a difference.

From Chloe, in the Asia region:
Asia Pacific is the most disaster-prone region in the world. In 2025, it felt like every other week there was a flood, earthquake, cyclone, heatwave or some sort of emergency happening in at least one of the countries we work in across Asia. Pray for protection against the worsening climate crisis in the Asia region for the year ahead and for the success of our Disaster Risk Reduction work with local churches.
From Loida, in the Latin America region:
Please pray for continued protection, wisdom and spiritual resilience as churches and youth networks serve communities affected by violence, inequality, environmental degradation and climate impacts.
Pray for:
- Strengthened collaboration in our climate and Environmental and Economic Sustainability work.
- Deeper unity within the Christian Anti-Corruption Alliance, which seeks to uphold good standards of integrity.
- The growth of new leaders and pastors committed to justice, peace and care for creation.
- God to continue opening doors so that churches may shine as centres of hope and transformation in their communities.
From Lucie, in the West Africa region:
- Pray for the millions of Christians driven from their homes across sub-Saharan Africa, including Nigerians, Malians, those in Niger and Chad, and others in Liberia and Sierra Leone, now living in displacement camps. Pray for provision for their needs – food, shelter, safety and a means to rebuild their destroyed homes, churches and livelihoods.
- Ask that God’s love will bring healing to communities in our region who are affected by conflict and insecurity, injustice and economic hardship. Pray for our peacebuilding efforts, protection for communities living in areas of conflict, and restoration for families who have suffered loss and displacement. Pray for the hearts of the militants and those who perpetuate the violence and discrimination in the Sahel region to be changed so they can move towards peace.
From Dima, in the Eurasia and North Africa (ENA) region:
Please pray for:
- Success in securing adequate donor funding across the ENA region, particularly for countries facing significant cuts. This is vital to ensure the sustainability of our critical development and humanitarian work, and the full, effective implementation of our plans.
- Continued unity among churches, for open doors in new countries and denominations, and for God’s clear guidance as we scale up Transforming Communities work across the region. We ask for prayer that the Lord continues to give us wisdom, discernment and joy as we serve his mission. And ask that he would strengthen the church’s witness to be a source of transformation, peace and dignity for all communities. Pray that God’s favour, protection and provision will sustain this work and allow it to flourish in the year ahead.
- Tearfund’s response in Gaza and the West Bank. Pray for our partners and that the supplies stuck at the border would be released. Pray for lifting of barriers and that we can help meet the massive humanitarian needs.
- The protection of all our partners, for their encouragement, for them to feel that God is close to them, and for supernatural peace.
From Idzai, in the South and East Africa (SEA) region:
The SEA region is committed to mobilising 50,000 local churches as centres of transformation by December 2027. In 2026, we are seeking God’s guidance and empowerment as we work towards mobilising 7,000 new churches to embrace this calling.
Please pray for the strengthening of Transforming Communities work in our region, including:
- The development of trainers and facilitators.
- Increasing Transforming Communities training in theological institutions.
- Further development of Transforming Communities projects and awareness.
- Fostering relationships with church leaders, networks and organisations such as the ACT Forum to enable movement building.
Pray for expansion of peacebuilding work across the region, specifically for God’s wisdom and grace to fearlessly engage in promoting dialogue on a long-standing interfaith conflict in West Nile, northern Uganda. We also pray that through the Mozambique First Initiative, we can address the historical conflicts in Mozambique. These conflicts have led to massive internal displacement, resulting in severe humanitarian crises.
Please pray for the provision of funding to support resilience projects in the SEA region, allowing more communities to adapt to the effects of the climate crisis.
From Anne, in the South and East Africa (SEA) region:
Pray for the growing influence of the ACT Forum at SEA level as well as at national levels. Its vision for Africa appeals to churches and they are finding it easy to work together through this platform.
