Targeted Giving

Pick a project, see where your money goes and discover the impact you can make for people living in poverty.

How it works

Your money goes straight to the project you choose. No hidden sign-ups or monthly commitment.

  1. Select a project
Pick a project that matters to you – from helping hungry children to stay healthy to business start-ups for single mothers. You decide where your money goes.
  2. Give directly
Your money goes straight to the project you choose. Local partners  have the plan. You help fund the final goal.
  3. Start transforming lives
As soon as the project hits its funding target, we send the money straight to local partners on the ground. We’ll email you to let you know as the project progresses.

Why you can trust us

We are committed to transparency and accountability and certified by a number of independent regulatory bodies.

Our accountability

As an organisation, we have been certified by the Humanitarian Quality Assurance Initiative (HQAI) for our quality and accountability. This means that we have consistently demonstrated our commitment to working with communities in an empowering way: all of our work is based on communication with the communities we serve and involves their active participation and feedback.

We also hold ourselves accountable to our partners, donors and supporters in how we spend the money you so generously give. We are committed to ensuring that your money is spent in a way that upholds the dignity and wellbeing of every person we work with.

Our standards

Tearfund is a signatory to the Red Cross Code of Conduct and is certified against the Core Humanitarian Standard.

As a limited company and registered charity, our accounts are independently audited and submitted to Companies House annually and we also report to the Charity Commission, an independent body that regulates activities of charities in the UK.

  • We are only asking for the amount of funding that we need for a project so we won’t ever exceed the funds required. We are very grateful for other donors who are also funding these projects, so the project will still go ahead even if we don’t quite get the full funding.
